Congrats to Maria Artunduaga, founder of Respira Labs on her recent Early Career award from WITI@UC. This NSF I-Corps National (Summer 18) and LAUNCH 18 team continues to conduct customer discovery while finalizing their prototype to monitor COPD exacerbations. The concept was inspired by Maria’s grandmother’s struggles with COPD and the need for a solution to both provide peace of mind and prevent unnecessary ER trips.
Graduating at the top of her class from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia, Maria moved to the US to complete her medical education at Harvard, the University of Washington, and UC Berkeley as well as UC San Francisco, where she obtained master’s degrees in public health and translational medicine.
Thanks for all you do in giving back to aspiring STEM and #Female Founders in our local ecosystem and in your native Colombia!
