Pedro Moura and Jessica Eting met as Evening-Weekend MBA students and discovered a shared passion for improving the financial health of underrepresented communities. They took their first idea, a gamified savings platform, through our one week NSF I-Corps program and quickly discovered that noble ideas don’t necessarily translate into product market fit.
Applying the skill they learned in I-Corps, they conducted hundreds of interviews before landing on their target customer segment and a value proposition to match. Aided by grants such as the Trione Student Venture Fund, they founded Flourish and took it through last year’s UC-wide LAUNCH accelerator.
After LAUNCH, they continued with Dan Ariely’s Common Cents Lab and continue to grow. Learn more about how Pedro and Jessica are helping millennials find the fun in achieving their personal finance goals!
